Reiki is a system of natural healing, which involves the laying on of hands.
It was re-discovered in the late 1800’s by Mikao Usui who was a Japanese Buddhist monk, and was developed at the turn of the last century.Tibetan Buddhists monks originally used this technique, although the laying on of hands and natural healing is probably thousands of years old.
Reiki is the transference of universal energy. It is given by placing the hands on or just above the recipient’s body. Once the practitioner aligns himself or herself with the recipient, an amazing connection can take place creating a natural flow of energy working on a high frequency through the person who is receiving it, leaving a feeling of well being on the physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level.
The Reiki healing energy moves through the healer and dispels blocks and negativity before being channeled through the recipient, never draining the healer. Reiki works on a higher vibration creating change, transformation and dispels negative beliefs for these present times where confusion exists.
Reiki works from within, and treats the whole person including body, mind and spirit. Creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping many known illness and creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
The ability to attune to the Reiki frequency is passed from the master to the student by giving attunements. During the process of attunements the Crown, Heart and Palm Chakras are opened, creating a direct channel from the universal energy, and gives the student what they require.
This strengthens the energy given and adds to the value and refinement of the attunements, gently opens the channels of the student to the energy.Traditional Usui Reiki first degree uses a four-stage attunement, which has the effect of gently opening the channels of the student to the energy. The first three attunements will open the healing chakras and the fourth will seal the energy completely.
Reiki healing can be learned by almost anyone. One of the most important things when learning, or receiving Reiki, is to let go of any preconceived ideas that you may have had of it from the past. It is also about being open, have good intentions and finally, “Relax”. Let the energy do the work. However, Reiki will do its work regardless of whether you believe in it, or not!
